Besides 30 members, CCBEN also has network of partners. These partners support CCBEN through technical, financial or spiritual support. I . Ministry of Tourism (MoT)
Work with CCBEN
MoT has facilitated and supporting the spiritual support to CCBEN activities. So far CCBEN has conducted one training with two phases for the tourism officers in all the provinces and cities of Cambodia about community based tourism and also facilitation skill in the development process as well. Now CCBEN got a project granted about the capacity building to government tourism officer so we need a legal support from the Minister as well before this project implemented. II . SNV
SNV, Netherlands Development Organization, helps people overcome poverty in developing countries worldwide. With a global presence of 1,600 professionals in 33 countries, SNV build local capacity to generate employment and income opportunities for people, and improve access to basic services. SNV is dedicated to a society where all people enjoy the freedom to pursue their own sustainable development. SNV advisors contribute to this by strengthening the capacity of local organizations.Work with CCBEN SNV is one of the partners of CCBEN which helps both financial and technical support to CCBEN. SNV has provided 20% of tourism advisor time to work for CCBEN to develop proposal for CCBEN. As a result there are two proposals granted. In these two proposals, SNV will provide two technical advisors to work in each project. III . AECIDAECID is the technical organization responsible for the design, implementation and management of the cooperation projects and programs through its own resources or the collaboration with other national and international organizations and Non-Government Organizations (NGO). Work with CCBEN AECID is one donor for CCBEN. AECID has funded one project about the capacity building on community based ecotourism in the Northern Part of Cambodia for the government tourism officers there. The project will take 18 months and is planning to start on the 1st December 2007. IV . Asia Invest ( European Union )
The Asia-Invest Programme is a European Union initiative that aims to promote and support business co-operation between the EU and Asia, for increased trade and investment flows between the two regions. Work with CCBEN Asia Invest is one donor for CCBEN. Asia Invest has funded one project about the marketing and quality standard for community based tourism business in Asia. This project will involve four countries, the Netherlands, Mongolia, Indonesia and Cambodia, and it will take 30 months to finish starting from February 2008. V . Cambodian Association of Travel Agents (CATA)
CATA stands for the Cambodian Association of Travel Agents. CATA was established in 1996 with one major aim to bring together tourist agencies of all sizes from across the Kingdom under one banner and by doing to organize them into one powerful lobbying force to give the commercial sector of the burgeoning tourist industry a strong voice in a rapidly growing industry.The members of CATA during the fifth mandate are more than 140, all members are already a recognized united force in a travel industry which has continued to growth and flourish. Work with CCBEN Some of CATA members became CCBEN members. CATA pushes its members to be CCBEN members as these two organizations have the similar which would like to promote CBET in Cambodia as well as to contribute alleviating poverty in remote areas in Cambodia. CATA is willing to support CCBEN to attend the international events in the region with the purpose to build network and to promote tourism in Cambodia. VI .IUCN The International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources.Use of the name “World Conservation Union” began in 1990, but the full name and the acronym are often used together as many people still know the Union as IUCN. The World Conservation Union was founded in October 1948 as the International Union for the Protection of Nature (or IUPN) following an international conference in Fontainebleau, France. The organization changed its name to the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources in 1956. Work with CCBEN IUCN is the expected Donor of CCBEN. CCBEN is implementing a project about law and regulation of CBET in Cambodia with co-finance of IUCN and World Bank VII . TIES
Founded in 1990, TIES is the largest and oldest ecotourism organization in the world dedicated to generating and disseminating information about ecotourism. It currently has members in more than 90 countries. The organization's membership includes academics, consultants, conservation professionals and organizations, governments, architects, tour operators, lodge owners and managers, general development experts, and ecotourists. As a non-governmental organization, TIES is unique in its efforts to provide guidelines and standards, training, technical assistance, research and publications to foster sound ecotourism development.
